    Gong Hei Fatt Choi!

Here it is...tada...Chinese New Year. Not much a hoo-ha in our house. Cuz we're bananas. Well, we're not completely lost of Chinese traditions. We did get ang pow from our parents at least...and had popiah for dinner. hehe...yum yum.

Who actually holds an open house on the 1st day of CNY? hehe...AD la... Yeah, huge place. I think if it suits my fancy I might get me one of those...heehee....

Gonna take my Divemaster theory papers tonight. No worries

oh ya...played bball at BV with Y them that day (forgot which). I really am getting old....damn....too much diving too little exercise.

    Check this out!

Made a new website for my dad's dive company. Call it a going-away-present. Take a look at http://bluewatersborneo.tripod.com/

Hey, I spent alot of time and effort on it, the least you can do is take a look!

    morrays & stingrays galore

Diving yesterday with EL and her friend JN. Kesian...have to do refresher with DSD...haha...didn't dive for 2 years but still ok la. Oh man...the water was so friggin' cold!! This might sound disgusting to non-divers, but it felt sooo good to pee in my wet suit.(Hey, I do wash it after, ok?) I hate being cold so much, I cant imagine living in places like the UK or Russia. Yikes...

Both dives were quite long. Unusual in the sense that we saw 4 morrays (2 quite big) and even more blue-spotted stingrays. Also stonefish, lionfish, bumphead, barracuda, six-banded angelfish, skunk, clarks & pink anemonefish. It was funny that I saw a 6 banded swim past me reallly fast like it was running from somthing...thought it was weird, then started wondering if a huge shark would come along chasing it....haha...crazy

    Almost done...i think

Went out to sea especially today just to get my divemaster training skills done. Just me & dad...no divers. Went to Malohom Bay. The wind was to strong and the sea so choppy. Steered the boat most of the way. Those waves were damn scary, if I was really strong I probably woulda ripped of the steering, gripping it as hard as I did. Haha...funny, in a scary way...hmmm... Anyway, the equipment exchange was really weird. And I almost kneeled on a blue-spotted stingray camouflaged in the sand while I was doing the fin pivot. Yikes...scary. Cant imagine how I'd feel if dad hadn't seen it.

Oh ya...picture taking at school today. At 8a.m. man....As usual, I wished I had gone later...haha...Nobody's punctual nowadays. What a waste of my beauty sleep...HAH HAH...
And that idiotic Mr. StupidFace saying "you're fast...". What? My hair? It was done 2 months ago, you blistering idiot. If I wasn't such a polite person (BIG HAH HAH), I'd scream:" Mind your own fcuking business, freak!"

    Bejabbers!!

thx eva! Yup...glad we sailed thru. Congrats to you too! Real happy with it and glad it's all over. A whole new "exam" ahead...our lives.

Well, I guess that's that. No more anticipation.

    Your Highness!

I just gotta note this down or I'll forget it. I saw a Kingfish today! I've never seen it before. Not even in books. Actually thought it was a tuna. Also saw a snake eel...cool. Didn't move an inch when dad touched it under the mouth. Not a completely fruitless day I guess. Did the 15 min threadwater exercise and diver tow......tiring!

    stuff to say

What I write next may seem real random...cuz it is.

That day I was diving, and I saw a school of crocodile needlefish. It was just amazing. Since I passed the 100 mark, been kinda lazy to log my dives.
I wonder if it really is that scary to dive in Australia. Great whites? I think I'd be just as scared of huge jellyfishes...argh! Shark attacks usually happen to surfers and bathers...rite? Wouldn't it be great to dive and get paid for it? To me that would probably be the main attraction of getting a divemaster qualification. Not as a career mind you.

That morning I saw the funniest cartoon ever: Dave the Barbarian. OMG...it was sooo random. It's hilarious...I should watch more dumb cartoons...

A levels results coming out in, like, 3 DAYS! I'm really glad that all my uni stuff gao tiam liao...but it still matters, rite? I mean...it's A levels!!

    scantily clad women

The real reason dad's employees stay with his company: not the "high pay", not the free lunches (what kind of employer buys ppl lunch everyday??), not the beautiful undersea world......but scantily clad women. Getting to see women in bikinis all day must be a real bonus. Good for them, dad can continue paying them peanuts! haha...ok, just kidding.

I'm the assistant now. Not that dad really needs one. So capable of teaching on his own. Had this group of OW students from KL. A bunch of bubbly gals and a guy. Of course dad's employees didn't need to be asked to give any assistance this time. Too bad for them, but I was the assistant...heehee. Call me nasty, but I just can't help it. It's fun to 'kit si' ppl.

On a darker note, a career in scuba diving is no laughing matter.
Being a divemaster is no easy job. Slack for awhile and something could go terribly wrong. It's water, and it's not something to play with. People could die anytime. Negligence. Being careful is not enough. Every second that the diver or student is with you, they're life is somewhat your responsibility.

Just a reminder to be more careful out there. Every job has it's risks.

You're turning into something I detest
And everybody says that your a mess
Since everyday I love you less and less

I know, I feel it in my bones
I'm sick, I'm tired of staying in control
Oh yes, I feel a rat upon a wheel
I've got to no what's not and what is real
Oh yes I'm stressed, I'm sorry I digressed
    Impressed you're dressed to SOS

Oh, and my parents love me

    1st mantas, now bumphead?

Wow wow...good diving good diving! 1st dive wasn't much, think Padang Point's not so good. Good ole' Sapi Reef! There was that manta 2 days ago, and today a school of young bumphead parrotfish! Great. 2nd dive today...lionfish, 2 blue-spotted stingray, 2 schools of barracuda, a school of bumpheads and a big cuttlefish. Cool! Wish I had my camera. But I still wish we'd seen a whaleshark.......now when do you reckon that'll be?

    3m white manta in kk?!?!

    1 Jan 2006

My 1st dive of the year. And after quite awhile too. What a contrast to the world of shopping malls and highways that I was beginning to get used to. I can't say it was the greatest dive that I ever had, but it sure was enough to cleanse the soul. That's all I needed, to get into the water. Visibility wasn't good, didn't see anything special in particular (a lionfish, a shy moray), but it just felt like I had fallen asleep and was floating dreamily in space. A murky space if I must say. I guess the peaceful part was mainly because there was just one Leisure Diver, and a quite experienced one too. The way all dives should be: slow and relaxing.

2nd dive was long, maybe an hour. Saw a purple/white nidibranch, another moray, a lobster (looked dead though), six-banded angelfish, a few schools of young barracuda, and a blue-spotted sting ray. Nice. Enjoyed it very much.

On surfacing and returning to the island, the boat suddenly made a 180. The excitement? A white manta seen gliding below! Shit! Donning our masks and jumping in didn't change that. We were just there and we missed it. Chance of a lifetime. According to the lucky fellows who'd seen it below, it had a wingspan of 3 metres!
