October 28 Industrial!!!!Finally I've got it. Seems like months man...
And I friggin' went to work for another 4 hours today when I should be studying. Oh well...I'd probably have been daydreaming at home anyway. What the hell... October 26 last assignment for the yearWOohoo...just handed in my last assignment. One unit completely over and done with! Yessss...! 3 more to go...not too bad not too bad. Just gotta remind myself that most of the work (asss & tuts & lecs) are over and done with. All i have to do is go in that exam room, sit down and "demonstrate my knowledge & understanding...blah blah" Right...
What a day I had yesterday. There's this newly opened branch (yet again...boss making money...) which is like...a total fishtank. Right in the certre of the foodcourt, no proper walls whatsoever. There are these little glass partitions that makes me feel more like a fish. Feel so exposed. And people are walking around looking and stuff. Weird! Another weird thing is that it works. There's this other branch that sells the same food but its all enclosed (like a normal shop should be...sheesh) and there's much less business there. So...it's just the novelty factor hey? Or maybe they like the thought that they can see their food being done and make sure we don't spit in it or something...paranoid people...
Some guy complimented us on the food saying that it was great and he had had it 5 times in 3 days. That's great and all...but doesn't he have anything else better to do? haha...ok, yeah that was nice. Complaints aren't so nice tho.
Well...after a hellish tiring loooong day, all's well that ends well. Some nice cashier gal going "how was your day?" (and not in the droning tone that is not meant to be answered, mind you) was just enough to make me feel better.
October 24 Assessment aaa!Waaaah....why so slow aa...Where are my assessment results??
My tut participation marks...my assignments handed in months ago...Where are they??
Need to know how much marks I need for my exam la...damnit...
This should be directed to tutors & lecturers..but I doubt that would be much help.
Hai...just need to let of some steam......
p/s Thanks Jess. Guess I shouldn't try to do too much to soon? Yeah...should be a good gal like u & go to church.
Weiii...it's a date! food binge in KK! Haha...~! October 16 Multicultural FestivalMet my mum after work & went to the Multicultural Festival held at Roma Parklands yesterday. Quite a big event, even though there wasn't much publicity about it going around.
Main attraction: food! Danish, Indonesian, Gypsie (??), Indian...all sorts!I can't even remember them. haha..heaven for a person like me!?! We had this spiced hot choc drink from the gypsie stall which was nice...my fave: cinnamon. Walked around a bit...there were also at least 3 big stages with performances & stuff. There was some kind of percussion thingy going on at the amphitheatre. We also tried some Danish 'pancakes' which were actually balls. And I cannot pronounce the name of it. Not bad...with jam & icing sugar.
Dinner was the best: mum had lamb curry with basmati rice, whilst I had Thosai with chicken curry...mmm..yum! Haha! Don't have to wait months for my thosai from Salim!!! But i'll still have heaps when I get back...
Where else would you be able to find such a mix of cultures (& food October 12 I'm a person first, student second, kitchenhand lastI seem to be a person last nowadays. I can't even make myself take naps.
Question: Can I claim workers' compensation for hot oil burns from splashes & brittle nails?
Yeah...that's my life right now. Working and studying. Going to lectures, tutorials, and work. Exams are coming! Behold the dreaded E word! Aiyayayayai...
Another thing: BE WARNED! If you ever order food right before closing time, your head will go completely bald & hair will grow on your ass.
Ok maybe not, but at least I'll be cursing you everytime I'm closing & have to go home late.
October 08 Southbank, Uni & ChinatownTook my mum for a 'look see' at those 3 places...apparently the Southbank markets were still on, lucky us. Actually went to 2 markets...including the one in Chinatown. Anyway, weather was cloudy one moment then sunny the next, almost thought is would rain. Oh yeah and a barbell fell of my ear when i took a shower the day before so went back to the shop to have it tightened as well. Took a long walk...from southbank crossed the Goodwill bridge to uni then to city and lastly Chinatown. Tried out a 'wicked banana' in southbank...hehehe...just check out the pics if u really wanna know. Shared a milkshake and a doner kebab for lunch by the river. Hmmm...what else...oh and we took a rest in the botanical gardens and had the banana. Bought some stuff in Chinatown...black glutinous rice...yum...better than the one at "bao jian tang" lah...a few meagre bits of rice at the bottom so 'kuhon'....
October 07 Multicultural fiestaMet with GT at the multicultural fiesta in uni after work today...oh ok...yesterday. Pretty cool...food stalls and a centre stage for performances. There was nasi lemak for $4.50, teh tarik for $1.50 and sate $3 for 2 pieces. Nope...still couldn't bring myself to buy them. Just grit my teeth and wait a couple of months...wont kill me...i hope. Also...hokkien mee, singapore meehun...Ok so I ended up eating the cheapest one $3 teppanyaki mee which was pretty good - because it tasted no different from mamak mee goreng...Haha! Free miso soup too. Had a 'bubble black tea' from the taiwan stall which I assumed had "zhen zhu/pearl" - bad assumption. Quenching all the same after that salty soup.
Some of the performances were great. The ones I enjoyed the most were the Middle Eastern belly dancing (yeah...really shiny costumes) and the Pacific Islanders traditional dance. They were wearing grass skirts and huge headdresses. Cool!
btw apparently it's mooncake festival...so happy mooncake festival people...or do they call it lantern festival? |
