So mundane...but I'm gonna talk about it anyway. For records sake.

 

Went to brunswick yesterday. The 1st time I've ever bought so many groceries. That's what u get when u leave ur shopping to the last minute. Anyway, had fish n chips from a Chinese shop selling kebabs which was a real cheater cuz they put this big sign saying "special fish n chips $6" but then when u wanna pay its $6.30 cuz of the tiny little packet of tartar sauce. What? oops. too long sentence. Anyway...wouldn't hurt them to say its "special $6.30". Shits.

 

More shits...when people tell before u that something costs $50 and then later they say its $74. Well...them cheaters can burn in cheater hell together. Just u wait...

 

Ok...today. Had nice chinese herbal chicken soup or whatever u call it.Put white radish in it too. Nice nice. But the chicken was too fat. Wonder what they feed them here. They're like obese or something.   

 

Got my stuff from home. Yay! Thx thx..SW n OLV. n her bro.

 

So sweet. My parents "sung zhong" to me? haha...yes yes. Nice watch. I wouldn't really have chosen a watch like that but now that I have it I like it lots. If watches had a sex my Caterpillar would be a 'he' and this baby a 'she'. Bet he's jealous rite now...hehee...ok making no sense.

 

Alrighty, miss u guys. This watch will always remind me then.

wow...1st time I'd seen so many ppl in the city at one time. Pretty cool I think. Whole bunch of ppl in uniforms, with lotsa stars n badges.

 

Lunch at uncle K's was awesome. CHAR KUEY TEOW man!! That's not all...Lobak!! Ice Kacang!! bubur pulut hitam!! omg...all in one day. It's too much! hahaha...yup, food makes me very happy too! Bout 13 ppl altogether I think. Auntie K's a good host. Busy preparing the food. Like msian lunch or something, but with a Chinese couple. The lady was nice, did law in QUT before too. Was nice chatting with her.

And their house was so nice. Pool and everything. Must be great to live there, although it's kinda far.

 

Yep...had a nice time.

 

And got back so late for basketball. Din even break a sweat before it got dark.

Anyway...beautiful day! yep yep...sun shining, birds-a-singing (so cliched)...Took a cycle to the bike shop in the city. The bloke there this time wasn't too friendly. What the hell. Got the adjustments my bike needed. Would you spend A$50 on a rear rack for your bike? Or wud u rather carry ur heavy stuff on ur back n end up with a patch of sweat on the back of ur shirt? Decisions decisions...money money...

 

Cycled along south bank. The Brisbane river is so beautiful. Will upload some pics soon. I just don't like cycling alongside cars on streets.

 

Oh ya...had a good time in church yesterday.  Mum will be glad.

phew...eating my dinner of 'choi sum' (i think) and English sausage. Yum...multitasking abit mah.

 

Nothing beats a good workout. Finally after dunno how many weeks, had a few good games of basketball. Aaah...Just like home. All chinese faces on the court, except for 2 guai lous. Most of them seem to prefer tennis. Only difference with home if there were Taiwanese, Hongkees, Chinese, S'poreans, and of course, Malaysians la.

 

Cycled to Newmarket to have a look see. Coles is bigger there than in the city. Took me 15 mins i think. hmmm...Should I get a rear rack for my bike? It's $50....shitty.

 

 

Bought a $2.50 daily 2 zone ticket...just to use it to get to the city...once. Duh...

Had this plan of going around (within 2 zones) to look at bikes at bike shops...you know la...see the prices...choices...etc. Manatau, while in the city I just remembered: "hey, there's a bike shop nearby...y don't I just pop in to have a look." And there it was...reduced the 399. Supposedly last years stock which was worth 499. Well...pretty much off my budget, which I might say has been raising steadily.

 

1st I'd taken a look at a $15 dollar bike. Can you believe it? But that was defective. Then I reckoned I'd get a second hand for under $100. That soon became $200 after a visit to 'the bicycle revolution'. But all those limited me to 'mountain bikes', and I really really really wanted a road bike, which were all like....$1000?? And here it was 399. Such a beauty. Thx to mum & dad for supporting me...said to get a good one cuz I'd be using it for 4 years anyway. So there...now it's right here with me where it belongs. Muaks...my baby. Haha....who says things can't make you happy?

 

 

Spend money on a damn bus ticket n end up riding home...yis............

I really needed this. A break. Not that I'd call it relaxing or anything...unless you call sleeping at...what...3 and waking at 7 relaxing.

Went to VN's easter party. Not that it had anything to do with easter. Oh wait...had a piece of slightly melted easter egg from VN.  Party was nice. Nice BBQ. Loved their place. It was so cool. And their pool was sooo inviting. If wet clothes and a busted handphone weren't a problem I would've jumped in. I wish we had a pool. It was weird though when party crashers left the true occupants stranded in their "balcony/foyer". VN's too nice for her own good. Or maybe all of them are. Maybe that's a good thing? And I bet she regreted playing  that weird 'drink or dare' game thingy with them. Hope she washed her nose...erm...n her tongue properly. Oh ya...and VN looks cute when she's drunk. haha...so funny.

 

Was too late to walk back through the city. Wouldn't have known how to anyway. Damn my bad sense of direction. Or should I say non-existant one. So both me n JM ended up crashing at NDR's. Oh ya...the 1st time I flipped through a playboy mag (NDR's...not VN's). I didn't know they had articles, did you?

Woke at 7. The streets were so empty at 7. Had to get home n showered to get to central station by 9.30. Was late tho (sorry JM).

 

Took the 1 HOUR 'express' train to Harbour Town.

OMG...2 words: shopping heaven! If I were earning in A$ though, which I'm not. What the hell, I'm not even earning in RM.

Anyway...ripcurl...quiksilver...nike...adidas...cult. Just to name a few. I love cult...cool shop. Luckily we (me, JM, SHN, JS) pretty much had the same interests when it came to shopping.

As usual, got stuff that I didn't actually need. "separate the needs from the wants"...eek...that's not working for me. Got a bag(so cool...I love it), a cap, a pair of thongs, a wallet, tiny purple sports bottle, and some stuff for my dad. Didn't get anything for my mum, how le? Probably get her chocs or something if I cant think of anything better.

Oh...n that was the 1st time I had Turkish Delight. Hmm...Reminded me of Narnia. A bit too sweet for my liking though.

I never used to be like this. Like I would laze around at home (KK la...) and not really worry bout not doing anything. Time wasn't really that important. Or what I did with it.

 

Look at me now. Hmmm...to sit around at home and do nothing would seem sooo...repugnant? haha...sorry...pardon the jargon.

It's like i have to utilize every minute of my time doing something useful. It's easter soon. And I'm worried I'd be wasting time without a job. Aaah....fan.

 

At least there is a place where my mind's not in that mind set. Botanical Gardens. I could sleep there without a care in the world...well, except worrying if I was still in the shade. Don't wanna get a burn when my tree shade moves la. or if a birds gonna shit on me...oh there I go again...

 

Has coming here changed me that much? Maybe the independance is getting to me.

Today at the end of NC's Law, Society & Justice lecture, she'd put up a comic in her powerpoint that had the caption: "This is Maths, not Law!". The pic was a girl and her teacher, where the girl had written "2+2=inconclusive" or something like that.  

 

I realized then just how different law is from what I've been learning, or the way I've been taught to learn. In science it's like everything must have a conclusion. You do this, you get that. Now it's you do this, this might happen...but then something else might happen too. There isn't always a conclusion. Know what I mean? More 'real life' if you ask me. Sorry...rambling...

Ok...what I've deduced from one and a half months of law school:

 

You don't have to be really smart (i.e. academically...like being a doctor, or rocket scientist ), just need common sense and critical thinking......I think.

 

You'll have to have a lot of time to spare sitting on your butt reading...and reading...and reading...and reading.......

Judgements, legislation, textbooks, journal articles.......

 

 

yeap...that's about it. Correct me if I'm wrong as I said...I'm still a newbie.
