    Exercise!!!

Finally...some decent form of exercise after a dry season due to exams. Went to play basketball...started by playing 2 on 2 with ALP, his bro & gf. I am soooo unfit. All it took was a few weeks of exams to do that. Darn it!

Let's see...they've got these black running tracks drawn on the field next to the bball court - just like our ttss sports day field. So after a short (but tiring) game we had this mini running race...probably only bout 50m. Such a long long time since I've sprinted.

Then we played futsal. Well a modified version. With no goal the improvised goal was post of the basketball net! A post! I couldn't even hit a large gaping goal...let alont a pole. Anyway, it was fun.

As you can imagine...I felt achy today...

Yay...my sister will be here 2moro. Gonna cook up a storm for her...hehe...

    Byron Bay

I spoke too soon. My weekend does get better :)

It was a completely random thing. SW get's this call at 11pm asking if we'd like to take a drive to Byron Bay to see the sunrise. Her colleague, a guy called Wayne. Pretty nice guy...pity he forgot to bring his portable stove...hehe...

Tried to sleep before that knowing we were to leave at 2am. That didn't work too well. Sleeping in the car didnt work well either. But it was all worth it. We arrived at about 4am, way too early for the sunrise. Took a hike up to the lighthouse (which I thought the beam of light was wonderful), hiked backe down, had somabe chinese tea and biscuits and tried to sleep again. Which didnt work well either. I was sooooo cold at that time of the morning.

Sunrise was at about 6.30am. The view was breathtaking. The lighthouse, the cliffs, the surf...just wonderful. I've missed the sound of the sea. Though this one was way louder that back home. Even saw parakeets (is that how u spell that?). Best of all, we saw bottlenose dophins!! Yay...though they looked like the size of ants in the distance, the experience was great. Jumped i think twice, the sticking their dorsal fins up a few times. Oh ya...and we saw people surfing as well. So cold still wanna surf...geng.

Took loads of pics there. Too bad the sunrise was mostly covered by thick clouds. Was too early too check out the shops, so we just had some breakfast before driving back. Had a latte and a Walnut Carrot slice. Yum. Met a nice dog called Zeuss whilst having breakfast. Such a cutie...reminded me of True. Leng Zai :)

Was sooooo tired. Havent had a good sleep for 2 nights. Didn't notice much of the ride home.

Warning: Movie Spoiler - stop reading if you haven't seen it but plan to

    X-Men III

WAaaaa...saddest movie EVER!! TRAGIC!! Sadder than Titanic (not that I thought it was that sad but 1st one to come to mind).

1st the guy who's pining over his supposedly dead lover is killed by his "dead" lover. Then the father figure dies. No...he not just dies, he disintegrates. Then the macho guy has to kill the woman he's madly in love with to save all of mankind. And he has to lose and regrow his skin to reach her in the process. And to top it all of, Rogue losses her powers!!!!! And she doesn't even fly in the movie! Argh...heartbreaking heartbreaking.*sob*
Magneto and Mystique losing their powers was sad too...sigh...

I love Wolverine...esp the scene where he fights members of the Brotherhood in the forest. So cool.

Anyway, went with CK. So weird, she watched DaVinci Code n I watched Xmen. Cuz I really really wanted to see Xmen... Before that I checked out the South Bank arts n crafts market. Nice...will take my sis there another weekend. Was soooo friggin hungry after the show...way past my dinner time. So we had milkshakes before catching the bus. I chose Almond Mocha whilst CK had butterscotch...something. Yum...had to smuggle them into the bus via CK's handbag after...hehe...

The weekend's not over yet...but so far I must say it's been pretty damn fine :)

My 1st visit to a drag show

OK...now that definately does not sound like the title to a childrens' book.

And it goes like this. Walked to RBH bus stop (the further one cuz I din know thr was a nearer stop). Missed the bus by a few minutes, just enought to see it whiz by. Had to wait another half hour for the next. Sounds crappy rite? It get's better. Whiltst I was sitting on the bench, something goes splat rite next to me. An egg had just hit the bus stand sign. Fuckin dim-witted (racist?) assholes (with bad aiming skills). I add racist cuz i know of a few other asians who've had that happen. But also heard it happened to a white guy. So whatever, racist or not - that was just so immature and stupid. I mean...to get a kick out of throwing eggs?? C'mon...that is so lame. Those losers probably got tired of fuckin themselves...!!

Well, spoilt my mood there and then. Really considered giving the night out a pass. Then I thought that would suck...letting some idiots ruin my evening. Good thing is, I met this nice lady,ELN at the bus stop after. She worked in RBH, and came from Russia. Qualified but could not practice nursing cuz of her limited English. Told me she loved Barcelona cuz it was a beautiful place, and recommended a visit. Well maybe I just will :)
Chatting made us miss the next bus, so had to catch the next which was the last service out. All was well, glad I met her. Gave me the Translink phone # cuz I told her not really sure bout the bus stops.
The moral of my story: There may be egg-throwin retards in this world, but not everyone are egg-throwing retards.

Actually that's not the end of my story. There's still the great time I had at the club. The drag show rawked. Oh n went up to M's apartment nearby for a small surprise party for a guy I didn't know. That was the coolest place I'd ever seen. Retro artwork and glassware. And he was super neat. Gay men...gotta love them. And he's such a great dancer! omg...I cant describe it. It was just fun to watch him having so much fun dancing on the pool table. Well, met people, danced, had fun...pretty much sums it up.

    Lighten up, dude

Gah...sometimes I really take things too seriously. But...that's not always a bad thing.

    1. I take studies very seriously. Cuz it's my future, and it's costing my parents alot. Not just that, but it means alot too.

    2. Family, especially since I've been here. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Can't agree more in this case.

    3. Pets. I love them alot more than...alot of other things. Hate that they have such a short life span. Sucks. Love my mousey and our dog. Our 2 little girls of the house. Can't imagine Jill's only about 1yr old. Since sis n I have grown up n left home I guess they've taken our place now :)

    4. Nature. It hurts when you read all these things in the news/mags bout the destruction going on. 1st Sipadan, then I read about Lankayan...illegal fisherman...shit...and I haven't even been there. In 10 years time it'll all be different. And so on for another 10. Just going downhill.

    5. My future. It's actually the same with my studies but just thought I'd add that.

Ok now it's bad when I take other people's crap too seriously. It's stupid y'know? C'mon...it's not like fuckin idiots with brains the size of peas  matter much in this world, let alone our lives. Yes yes...gotta keep that in mind. Life's a huge beautiful piece of art...and 1 misplaced patch of paint ain't gonna ruin it. God's work, be thankful.

Nope...relationships are not on my list. "I don't do relationships." Sound familiar? hehe...lighten up. I'm just kidding... great line anyway...had to have it here

Oh...forgot to add $$$ which in turn is connected to #5...hehe...call me shallow...

    4 down 1 to go

What a drag...1 more to go - contracts. Law, society and justice was good I think. Topic the same as my oral presentation which was good.

Excuse me - random note: There's this bus driver...usually it takes about 10 minutes to get from KG to GP, but today it only took 5. How he did it...I didn't really notice. Skills...

Anyhow...got a cool surprise in the mailbox today. I'm officially part of the PADI diving society! woohoo! Got my very own Australasia Scuba Diver mag...way overdue......but nvm.

Makes me miss diving even more. I wanna go to the Cod Hole! And I had never seen a school of cownose rays before, not even in print. If seeing a pic is so amazing I cant imagine how great it would be to see them in person. Hai....that day will come...yes it will.

I love diving I love diving I love diving!!!!!!

    Exam!!!

What I got out of the Torts paper:

People who do well in law exams aren't really smart, they just write super fast!?!

That's just what I got, feel free to ignore me. Or tell me I'm wrong. Enlighten me...

I saw Justice Michael Kirby today! Do you believe me? HAHA!! That man is a walking inspiration...for me, and it's safe to say for alot others too. Yay to equality!

ozzy! ozzy! ozzy! oi! oi! oi!

btw, I've been out of rice for more than a month. Wouldn't have thought I'd survive that. Got a 5kg pack the other day. Man...thank God for my bike. And the rear rack too. Really comes in handy. I've got my bike; CK's got her handy shopping trolley for her shopping...hehe...

I'm turining Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so

I’ve been a light sleeper lately. A few factors I can think of:

    1. Love for creamy yummy coffee
    2. Sleeping too late
    3. Thinking too much
    4. Pre-exam stress!!

Argh…exam exam. How how? Die die.

    Well, hope not.

Anyway, today on the way home on the bus it struck me how much I like water. Not for drinking lah…

Well I pass by the Brisbane river everyday on the way to uni and back. It has such a calming effect…just looking at it. And the sky too. I love taking pics of the sky. God’s beautiful works of art.

“I’m turning Japanese” is on the radio…awe…I love funny songs…

    More about Justice Michael Kirby

Law and justice in Australia: A dream of improvement

By Michael Kirby - posted Monday, 29 November 2004

In my dream, women will be there at every level of the law: on the Bench, at the Bar, in government and in legal partnerships. A woman brings a different life experience to a court as to any other institution. It is a legitimate and important experience to bring to influence the work of a final court. Women sometimes see aspects of legal problems to which men are blinded by their experiences.

And as a member of a sexual minority, I have tasted discrimination and irrational hatred. It is less visible today. Amongst young lawyers it has, for the most part, disappeared. But elsewhere it still exists. It still affects people's legal rights. These things make one sensitive to injustice. They stimulate dreams of days that will come where there is no inequality in things that should be the same.

Many of us are a member of some minority or other, or of some disadvantaged group. I dream that Australia's law, in keeping with the times, will be truly committed to equal justice for claims that are equal. Most particularly, it is my dream that young lawyers, who will soon take their place in the Australian legal profession, will have a real commitment to the principle of “equal protection under the law”. I hope their eyes will be freed from the prejudices and attitudes of the past and vigilant to wrongs, wherever they appear in law's discipline.

Just a few snippets from what I read. Hmm...quite inspiring don't you think? I'm starting to think I might have a passion for this. Who woulda thought...Hope I don't get disconcerted along the way.

If you're interested in the whole read then here's the link:

    Four Weddings and a Funeral

OMG...just watched that film again. Was on 7. So "British". Haha...love it. Funny. Especially Hugh Grant.

I tried scones this time. But it's definately not as good as cinnamon doughnuts. Gotta get me more of those. I feel so weird when I realize that kids here (or Brit kids) probably have 'scones for breakfast' whilst I try my first scone when I'm 20. Ooops...now I've made myself feel old as well. Anyway...It's just that you read about them in books...and they're the everyday things they eat...y'know...and what's my point? I dunno.

    Coffee, Muffins & Books

Wow...It's amazing what a nice cup of coffee, a sweet banana & chocolate chip muffin & a good book can do for you.

I think I sort of needed a break from all those law stuff. Thinking too much is probably gonna leave a premanent furrow on my forehead. Anyways...yea...relax where ever you can. Park...coffee house...

Did a bit of "window" shopping...heehee...it's getting cold. Need some gear. Well, just like looking at stuff. It's supposed to drop to 5 degrees tonight. Oh wow...glad I've got a hotwater bottle!

Oh ya...something on my mind that I've always forgotten to talk about. Justice Kirby! HAHA...the last 141 tut reminded me...when someone said Kirby was her hero. OMG...me too! It's so weird calling an old, white gay guy your hero, but he's just so....how do u say it? Good? We had to read this High Court judgement bout sexual discrmination...and he was the only one being fair and equitable to the women. (Actually not just in that one but in many others) Talk about the good guy against male chauvinists! As we know...the minority looses. Too bad huh? Maybe we need more gay guys to help out feminism and human rights. No offence to gay guys...hey, it's a compliment!
