    RAIN

No...not the Korean guy hoardes of prepubescent girls idolise. RAIN as in the theatrical show by Cirque Eloize. Is that awesome or what? I've just been to my 1st theatre show!! So cool...

The show was held here in the Lyric Theatre Qpac in conjunction with Brisbane Festival 2006. Saw it with Jess. Actually, the show was a mixture of theatre and circus. Cant begin to describe the amazing things the cast did. So varied and interesting. Loved it. And they always managed to lend a sense of humour to their stunts. Besides all that, the show had great lighting - changing the whole feel and effect of the stage. The troupe was from Quebec if I'm not mistaken.

As expected, the show ended with a splash. It literally rained on the theatre stage. Wonderful show...enjoyed it so much. Thx to Jess and Vivian
Cant wait for another chance to visit the theatre...heehee...

    Busy ah...

For the record: I cleaned, gutted and fried a whole fish for the 1st time.
    Haha...so sampalao...

Life's getting busy. Too used to watching way too much tv. Have to stop that bad habit. Having TV programmes available online does not help either. In the middle of 2nd week of 2nd sem now. Hope this sem will be just as good...or perhaps better? Research assignments galore...ugh......gonna be buried in books yet again.....darn

    It's paradise baby!

Off to surfers paradise today with JC and TM. Went in the afternoon...main reason being JC never been there before and secondly the night markets. Weather wasn't too good...raining abit and cloudy. Windy and chilly too...made me wish I had a parka like JC. Anyway...I got a cheap simpsons beach towel from a cheap tourist shop...yay...all ready for summer...aiks...

I even saw a dog skateboarding on the street outside the mall. How cool is that?

The night market was an unusual and nice experience. I'd recommend it to anyone who's into out-of-the-ordinary things. Well...if you don't like unusual things you must be a real bore. Anyway...yeah...arts and craft. The kind of things people can think up to make money...from you. It's interesting really...foam lizards on sticks? Flattened beer bottles? Wooden beer bottles? (boy do they like their beer) Words written in sand? Vintage coins with their designs cut out and plated in gold? Pics with a python? Crocodile jaws? I could go on forever. You get the idea..

Buses back to the train station were every hour so we missed the last one by 15 mins. Ended up passing time by trying a bunch of costume hats at a hat shop. Napoleon, barbarian, birthday cake, big fluffy hats, cool and very 20's detective hats...

    Got back at 10pm...late...

    Lamington National Park

Not bad not bad...a winter break well spent. Followed the church group for a long drive to Lamington National Park. Basically it was a tropical rainforest reserve, not much different than those in Sabah, but of course it was much MUCH colder. Thanks to uncle YK and auntie K for the parka (though I still have qualms about the colous >_<). I guess it wouldnt have been so cold if it wasn't raining. Yeap...not the best day to enjoy the mountains. Also didn't get to the chance to see the glow worms because of that.

Nonetheless, I still enjoyed my trip. Did the O'Reilly's Treetop walk, climbed the platform (30m above ground!), saw a bunch of Alpaca (a kind of animal, dunno if it's the same as a lamma or just related), visited the small town of Canungra and had me some famous Yatala pie!

The platform climb was by far the scariest thing I've done so far! Even superman escape couldnt beat that. Maybe cuz it took a much longer time. It wouldnt have been so scary if it wasnt raining...the metal bars were so slippery! And not to mention damn cold! And the last part was almost 90 degrees up! Wouldnt have climbed the last bit of TM hadnt urged me on. Stll...an achievement! Not as high as Mt Kinabalu but an achievement all the same :)

The pie was not bad. A good marketing plan eh...make ur pies "famous". I bet they could make their peas infamous. hehe... Nvm...at least they have good apple and custard pies. I liked Conungra. The definition of a small town. Cute.

Good trip good trip. Too bad the trip was to winding for CK if not she'd have enjoyed it more. Oh ya...and the 1st time I tried Bundaberg root beer. Yum...better than real beer if u ask me. I'm not an alcohol person.

    Don't I look over 18?

oh man...just passed off a fun night out...1st off - no ID. 2nd - I have to be up early 2moro.

DR had this little housewarming party at his place. His mom, grandma, and grandpa being in Brisbane n all. Yay...home cooked meal. Yellow-wine chicken (direct translation - cant help it), curry, tandoori chicken, roti naan  (that was thx to YH), prawns with vege! Yummy...

The company was mighty fine too. Met this new malay guy AB, whom I thought was a pretty interesting n talkative fellow. Besides that JR and WK, whom I hadn't seen since the last nite out was there too. Too bad MC couldn't come. They're just such fun people with whom I feel comfortable with, even though I haven't known them that long. Except for DR, but that doesn't really count either.

Anyway...yeah...they headed to their usual pit stop - the valley. To top it all of the Tin Billy was pumping Evermore's infectious 'it's too late' when I walked pass. Darn.

    Well yeah...tomorrow - Lamington here I come!!!

n...apparently hair makes a world of a difference. I've gotten my 1st few 'leng lu' remarks...ever. Which are pretty weird...but hey! fine by me :)

    time-fillers

Went to a place called JoJo's in the city for dinner the other night. Not bad...nice decor, reasonable price I guess. Self-ordering sorta lowered the standard abit, but besides that - I must say I enjoyed my steak. Small party - just me homies, JS, KH and JNS.

Then...short visit to Paddington this morning, and 'sun bian' Milton. Would like to see Milton at night. Must be nice...and romantic-like to.  Maybe the closest thing you'd get here to a romantic night in Paris? hehe...shoulda brought my sis here. But come to think of it she wouldn't wanna travel somewhere just for nice coffee. Or hot chocolate.

Since I'm on a roll...might as well type somemore...

    SeaWorld

We went so SeaWorld twice, cuz for the 1st visit we were so bz catching up with the shows on the schedule. The sea lion show was cute. The baby-in-training was simply adorable...trying to balance on it's front flippers. The dolphin show was my favourate...3 park superpass was a better go for our money than paying 150 for whale-watching and dolphin feeding i guess. As usual the youngsters in the show were the cutest...and very good at showing-off. What a cool job those trainers have. Of course they did not fail to remind us of their 'uncool' duties - gutting fish. I'd say every job has it's ups and downs and none of them are perfect. There was a 4D show called Planet SOS which we had to line up for what seemed like eons...but it was so realistic! Even better than Shrek 4D. I automatically dodged the imaginary incoming fruit hurled at us by the imaginary monkeys! And the python was sooo scary! I would not recommend this show to anyone with a phobia of snakes...unless u wanna face ur fears...hehe.

We didn't know they had water slides and rollercoasters until we got there. Sat on the Corkscrew - the same one as the 1st coaster I'd ever been on, which was the corkscrew in Genting Highlands. Can still remember that time...cowardly custard, closed my eyes most of the ride I think. This time was certainly more fun for me :)

Enjoyed the exhibitions very much. The polar bears were sooooo cute and active. Play fighting with each other. And one just could not get enough of the people in the underwater aquarium window. He just kept on threading water at the window, like a model posing for shots and videos. Was still doing the same thing almost 15mins later when we were leaving. The other one was busy with his toy. Sometimes animals can seem so human.

Shark Bay was awesome...the size and the teeth!! Unbelievable. Not to mention scary. Watched from above and via the underwater aquarium windows. Must be so scary to look down in the ocean and see a huge dark shadow. Besides sharks they had alot of rays which I enjoy watching very much...where ever I am, in the sea or not. So beautiful and graceful...

We also saw the penguins. They didn't move much and I simply remember them as stinky. The dugong exhibit was educational. Poor 'pig'...orphaned and alone in his little 'cell'. Nature is so cruel sometimes. Still, kudos to the kind people who'd saved him.

What else...we took a ride on the gondola, and also the monorail on the second trip. And the ski show was a joke. Boring!! Or maybe it's because animals are so much more interesting than people doing tricks? hehe

Yea...that's pretty much sums up Seaworld for me. There's also this seagull that owes me a sausage but I'm not gonna go into that...

    July 10

    Aiks

Today's the 10th. The last time I blogged is the 28th, the date my sis came over. The 1st time I'd spent so many hours in a train...

Sent my sis of earlier to the train station. Too ku hon to send to the airport...no point also la kan? Ok..so this was what her visit was like:

Bought 14 zones weekly tickets for each of us...thus the hours on the train. But we sure used them to the fullest.
1st stop was Harbour Town outlet shopping. Was alright...you know la, just shopping wat.

Bought the 3 parks 2 week long superpass to MovieWorld, Wet n Wild and SeaWorld - MovieWorld hands down being my favourite one.

    MovieWorld
Just being in this place was awesome. Those colourful, sometimes cartoon-like buildings were a dream. Loved it! Unfortunately the 1st ride we went on was the lamest one ever - Batman The Ride 2! 2! How lame was 1 then? haha...had to queue to get in too...oh man...lame-O!

The rest of the park was great. We did almost all the rides and shows...which would have been impossible if we hadn't gone there twice. The Police Academy Stuntshow was good...big explosions and screeching tires. Cool! The Matrix Official exhibit was interesting - real props and stuff. Shrek 4D was so much fun that we went for it twice. The Scooby Doo ride was surprisingly scary enough...creepy. Lethal weapon was fun too. You actually see your feet against the sky! We also did a kiddie ride...the Wild-E-Coyote coaster...funny. And best of all - the Superman Escape! Ta-da!!! Haha...Oh man, we almost went a third time, but thought it was weird to go on it straight after again. If it wasn't for the fact that we kept having to pay for a locker we probably would have had more fun with that thing...darn.

Besides the rides and shows we had fun taking souvenir pics with famous characters - or more realistically normal people in weird suits! Was fun - Scooby and co, Zorro, Batman (!!), Catwoman, Justice League, Looney Tunes, and Ta-da...Austin Powers!! I love that guy!

Also, I had my 1st Churro, which cost much more than it should have...eeek.

Aiyah...so long din blog...tired already. Will continue bout other stuff another time la...

Oh ya...World Cup final Italy champs...yer...Poor Barthez...and Zidane?
