    Is Australia a racist country?

Watch this and think about it.
"unbiased" report by Today Tonight on Channel 7 prime time slot:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQGoKhZ_Vdo

If you're an Asian, or know a friend who is Asian living in Australia ...tell me it doesn't pain you to watch this. The crux of it seems to say that Australians prefer European & NZ immigrants to Asian immigrants because...er...let me guess...Asians are yellow? Yes, very smart.

There is enough discrimination in our world today for almost anything that people can think of: social status, wealth, education, sexuality,  religion, physical appearance...the list goes on. Do we  really want to play the racism card again in this day and age? Why don't they cover their faces in big white cones with holes in them for eyes instead of airing an "unbiased" news report featuring a "doctor"? Or better still yell "Heil Hitler!" whilst exposing us to your smelly racist armpits. Have we forgotten the Holocaust?

And you thought us homo sapiens were actually developing and moving forwards. I am not blind, racism is still alive and well in this world. But should the media flaunt it in light of looming federal elections?

If you were nodding in agreement whilst watching that clip and muttering "f*cking asian" at me, shame on you. Be reminded that the media depicts the story that it wished to put forward, and it is usually the one that raises controversy and captures the most audiences.  I bet I know what they're selection criteria for interviewees were.

Is Australia's economy going downhill? Are hardworking Aussies left unemployed? Most importantly...can you live in Australia, if and ONLY if, you know Waltzing Matilda?

Or know what Pavlova is? Give me a break...I can't even believe this was on national TV. Unless you answered yes to the above questions, I'd suggest you shut up rather than shout "Nationalism" as an excuse for racism.

Here's my question: if every single so-labeled "asian" moved out of Australia, what would happen to Australia's successful economy?

Or...perhaps my naiveness has gotten the better of me.  Maybe this is the real world that we live in. Label everyone and disregard any special qualities they may have.

    YouTube tutorials

YouTube isn't just for passing time by watching other people do all sorts of weird stuff...gee..you can actually learn stuff too.
Learnt to make pop art-ish pictures from photographs...not too bad for an amateur struggling around with a mouse and without those cool writing pad thingys...

    Is this geeky or what?

    Watch this, you'll laugh!

You'd have to admit, very good though. Time and dedication people!
Want more? This is even geekier:

And here's the movie trailer...compare special effects, and don't forget budget...

Uhm...btw, so Sam was right they're really Japanese, and not from Cybertron...?

    Can't get enough of Melbourne?

Well I sure can't. Or the great number of photo opportunities it offers. The city has so much character.
Tired of my posed pics with weird-looking people grinning at the camera? Here's a bunch of great pics:

I want to take great pics like those...with a good camera with full manual controls to boot...hehe...*hint hint...
I think I might try to climb that new learning curve. Time to do some reading up and web browsing. And I should start in Brissy eh...

p/s I also want a Bumblebee action figure! Transformers is cool and apparently I am still 12.
Well the least a person deserves for studying hard is a camera and an action figure right?

    I miss diving

Sometimes you come across a certain things that really remind you of the stuff you're missing out on and really love - here being diving. Came across this vid on Facebook:

Despite some finicky fin kicking, and not the best dive site ever, I certainly felt chills down my spine watching it. Doesn't that big blue open space just invite you to jump in? Uhmm...all that freedom. Close my eyes and I can feel it.

And don't skip the 'about' section.
This photographer's passion for his work is truly infectious. To be able to do what one loves - what a great priviledge.

Here are a couple of pics to get your visual senses a-tingling!

Melbourne 'the place to be'...yeah baby!

Back from much needed break. 7 days 6 nights in Melbourne city. Uhmmm....I can still feel the chill. Yes, it was freakin' cold but hey, upside is Brisbane's winter now feels cool.

First day back to home sweet home which has internet connection and find that results of much-hated exam will be out on Monday. Eeek!

back to melb...7 days wasn't really enough to see the city. Can't say that I've seen all that melb has to offer, but still it was fun trying to cram as much as possible into 7 days. Enjoyed the sights, food, old buildings, laneways, grafitti, cathedrals, food, smell of food :) , trams, gardens, monuments, public sculptures and did I mention food? So many restaurants and food stalls in one place!

Too bad I did not keep a journal of my daily experiences in Melb, but that would have been too time consuming. Time better spent resting or seeing more of melb. Pictures speak a thousand words, so my pics will have to do the trick. Very much a trigger-happy person, I think I averaged a 100 pics a day, of which I will not be posting every single one.

Much gratitude towards Mel and Clair - Mel for the roof over our heads in melb and Clair for taking care of mischevious 'little' ratties and fish! Starting to miss mel and her chipped tooth already :(

For records sake, will list stuff I did in melb...(when I'm in the mood)
