Here I am trying my hand at acrylic paints again. I'm not using canvas because it costs much more than paper, and so it's ok if I wreck the paper. But the paper tends to lose shape and curl up in places because of the water. Maybe I'm using too much water. Anyway here's what roughly 2.5 hours of my afternoon got me:

It's very clear that I lack technique doing this. I also don't plan ahead very well and the painting just turns out. Points to ponder before I start another painting. There are so many good artists on DeviantArt that I can only dream of becoming as good. One I particularly like is Backyard by Laurazee. It's perfect.

Can't really explain this painting. Only after finishing my painting did it remind me of Death Cab for Cutie's I Will Follow You into the Dark:
